What does Gluten Free mean for Rosalta?

Rosalta is certified Gluten Free, which means our salt is produced and packed in line with recognised gluten-free standards. The only ingredient is Himalayan pink salt — there's no wheat, barley, rye or oats involved at any stage, so it's suitable for people avoiding gluten.

What does Halal certification cover?

Accepted Answer

Our range is certified Halal, meaning the ingredients, processing aids (none, in our case) and production environment have been reviewed against recognised Halal standards. In plain terms: nothing in the product or its production is incompatible with a Halal diet.

What does Kosher certification cover?

Accepted Answer

Rosalta is certified Kosher, which means the salt and the way it's produced have been reviewed against recognised Kosher standards. Salt is naturally pareve, and our facility and processes are set up so the finished product can be used in a Kosher kitchen.

Is Rosalta suitable for vegans?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Rosalta is certified Vegan — there are no animal-derived ingredients, and no animal-derived processing aids are used at any stage. The only ingredient on the label is Himalayan pink salt.

What does "allergen-conscious handling" actually mean?

Accepted Answer

Rosalta is produced in a dedicated facility that is kept separate from nuts and the major allergens. The line we use isn't shared with nut-based or allergen-heavy products, which lowers the risk of cross-contact during milling, packing and storage. We don't make a guarantee of zero allergen presence, but the handling is deliberately set up to reduce that risk as far as reasonably possible.

Are there any additives or anti-caking agents?

No. Rosalta contains no anti-caking agents, no flow agents, no added iodine and no bleaching — only 100% unrefined Himalayan pink salt. Because there's nothing in there to stop it, the fine grind can clump a little in humid kitchens; that's normal and a good sign that the salt is genuinely additive-free.

Accepted Answer

No. Rosalta is 100% unrefined Himalayan pink salt, so like all culinary salt it is naturally high in sodium. We don't sell or position Rosalta as a low-sodium or reduced-sodium product. If you've been advised to lower your sodium intake, please follow the guidance of your doctor or a registered dietitian.

Rosalta is pure salt (sodium chloride), so the sodium content is in line with standard culinary salt. Full nutritional information per 100g and per typical serving is printed on every pack.

No added iodine. Rosalta is unrefined pink salt with no fortification. If iodine is important in your diet, please speak to a healthcare professional about suitable sources.

We don't make that claim. Rosalta is naturally pink from trace minerals in the rock, but the amounts are very small and we don't position pink salt as a health product. We sell it as a clean, premium culinary salt — handpicked, unrefined and prepared with no unnecessary additives.

What does 'contains sodium, an essential electrolyte' mean on your site?

It's a factual statement about salt: sodium is an essential electrolyte the body uses to help maintain normal fluid balance. It is not a health claim about Rosalta specifically, and it shouldn't be read as a recommendation to consume more salt. UK government guidance is for adults to eat no more than 6g of salt per day.

Rosalta is a standard culinary salt with no additives, so it can be used in cooking as you would any other salt. For specific dietary advice during pregnancy, for infants or for anyone on a restricted diet, please follow guidance from your healthcare professional.

What's the difference between fine and coarse salt?

Fine salt dissolves quickly and seasons evenly — best for baking, dressings, brining and everyday cooking where you want the salt to disappear into the food. Coarse salt has larger crystals with a noticeable crunch and is designed for grinders, finishing dishes at the table, and seasoning meat or roast vegetables before cooking.

Yes. Our 200g grinder jar is designed to be refilled from any of our coarse pouches. Unscrew the cap, top it up and you're good to go — no need to buy a new grinder each time.

Yes. Every pouch has a press-to-close zip seal at the top. Pinch the seal closed after each use and the salt stays dry and free-flowing in your cupboard.

Salt itself doesn't spoil. We print a best-before date on every pack as a quality reference, but stored correctly the salt will keep its texture and flavour for years.

Because we don't use anti-caking agents, fine salt can occasionally clump in very humid kitchens. Break it up gently with a spoon or shake the pouch — texture and quality are unchanged.
